This statement is issued on behalf of the MSG Leadership team and 
Local Host.


The APrIGF Leadership team is deeply saddened and concerned by the 
recent tragic events happening in Nepal following the government’s 
ban on social media platforms. We extend our sincere condolences to 
the victims, their families, and all affected communities.


Although the ban on social media platforms has now been lifted, the 
APrIGF Leadership team and Secretariat are closely observing and 
assessing the situation in Nepal, considering that APrIGF 2025 will 
be held in Kathmandu one month from now, from 11-14 October 2025.


Should the circumstances persist, necessary adjustments and 
decisions will be made by the leadership as the safety and 
well-being of all participants are our highest priority. We will 
communicate further updates within the next one week to ensure that 
the APrIGF continues to provide an open, safe, inclusive, and 
respectful environment for dialogue.


Thank you for your patience and continued support for APrIGF during 
this period of uncertainty. Please be assured that the safety of our 
participants will remain as our utmost priority, and every effort is 
being made to ensure the successful realisation of APrIGF 2025.
