a) IGF-Japan Annual Meeting

The Forum was opened by the Director General for Telecommunications Business of the Ministry of Communications. Attendees first gave their reflections on IGF2017 in Geneva. Attendees shared the view that although a number of newer technology-driven policy issues, e.g. IoT, AI, big data, sharing economy, etc. were discussed during the IGF, the issues were highly technical and needed deeper policy deliberaton and that it would be more important than ever to have IGF be well represented by all stakeholders and experts. The Forum also discussed how we move Internet governance dialogue in Japan move forward in terms of inclusion and diversity.
